David’s family moved from Florida to North Carolina when he was young and he spent his youth in Buies Creek, just an hour south of the Triangle.

Interested in art and design from a young age, David applied to complete his senior year of high school at the UNC School of the Arts in Winston-Salem in the visual arts program. There he completed coursework in sculpture, design and drawing. He is currently a junior, studying for his Computer Science degree at UNC Asheville. David has been committed to quickly gain experience in the field and joined the DesignHammer team in mid 2005 to work as he completes his university degree. During the year, David alternates between working at DesignHammer in Durham, and telecommuting from school.

As Graphic Designer, David is involved in all aspects of user interface design from wireframes to completed designs. He is also highly skilled HTML, CSS, and JavaScript developer; capable of ensuring his visual concepts are realized as completed websites. For DesignHammer, David has been instrumental in shaping the website look and feel for prominent clients, including the Durham Bulls, Independent Weekly, and Orange County Habitat for Humanity.

When not at work or school he keeps himself busy staying current with the latest web innovations and executing his own cutting edge projects. David is also seeking to learn more about design theory and moderates the Designthought subreddit as a place for links and discussion. He also loves going to live music shows, and hanging out with friends.
