Jay has always been interested in how people communicate and interact. He studied Mass Communication and Radio at Plattsburgh State University before leaving to pursue a career in web design and development. Having been exposed to computer programming at a young age he applied those skills to create rich interactive websites while developing his skills as a web designer.
Jay spent two years as the Web Coordinator at Clinton Community College in Plattsburgh, New York where he developed custom web applications used by the faculty, staff, and students. He also developed a usability testing program that served as the basis of a major website redesign. The new site brought improved navigation, tools, and a continuing focus on user experience.
Wanting to experience development in a team environment he eventually joined DesignHammer. At DesignHammer he gets to bring together his love of clean, solid web design with his passion for creating rich user experiences; combining open-source software with custom written code and applications. Being part of a team of talented individuals provides constant motivation to improve.
Jay loves learning new things and the rapidly changing world of technology provides plenty of opportunities to do that. He spends his spare time playing video games, reading, and entertaining his wife who has embraced his geeky ways.
