In July 2005, DesignHammer completed the initial NC Policy Watch web site, replacing the presence afforded through a section of the Philanthropy Journal site.
In January 2008 the homepage was once again redesigned to add even more features under the direction of the NC Justice organization. The site features greatly expanded content, and a simple design and near monochromatic palette, intended to allow readers to focus on the news and commentaries featured on the site. The semantic, standards-compliant XHTML and CSS-based layout ensure accessibility across multiple platforms, from current Linux, Macintosh, and Windows browsers to cellular Internet devices, PDAs and text-only browsers.
Features include:
- Developed using a highly customized installation of WordPress.
- Incorporates RSS feeds of all content categories.
- Content Management System (CMS) configured to handle multi-media content, including images and audio files.
- Allows user input, through polls and article comments, revised weekly.
