DrupalCon so far

I'm attending DrupalCon Chicago, March 7-10, 2011

I'm halfway into my first DrupalCon in Chicago and I'm waiting for the Automated Testing and Drupal workshop to begin, so I thought I'd post a quick update on my time at DrupalCon. For those who don't know, the conference is three days of intensive discussion, learning, and presentations with 3,000 Drupal developers from around the world. So far it's been a great experience. I made it to the conference center just in time to hear Dries' keynote address, which celebrated the achievements of the Drupal community in delivering Drupal 7 and offered some insights into what to expect for Drupal 8. I've attended discussions and presentations on Salesforce, HTML5, hacking Views, mobile web design, making beautiful maps with TileMill, API design, and attended core conversations on staging and deploying content. The last few months I've been working intently on testing and provided patches for the Salesforce module, so the meetup with other developers on the project was helpful to set some goals and discuss the roadmap for the module. The only thing missing from this DrupalCon is the rest of the DesignHammer team! The session is starting, so look for another post tomorrow.
